Education and Leadership Development Program
Education is a powerful tool for transformation, yet many refugee women and girls in Dzaleka Refugee Camp face significant barriers to accessing quality education and leadership opportunities. SOFERES’ Education and Leadership Development Program is designed to equip women and girls with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue their dreams, advocate for their rights, and become leaders in their communities.

Key Program Areas:

  • Girls’ Education Support – We provide scholarships, mentorship, sanitary pads, and school materials to support girls' access to education, ensuring they can continue learning despite financial and social challenges

  • Literacy and Numeracy Training – We offer basic and functional literacy programs for women and girls who missed out on formal education, empowering them with essential skills needed for daily life and employment.

  • Leadership and Advocacy Training – We equip young women and community leaders with leadership, public speaking, and advocacy skills, enabling them to participate in decision-making processes and drive positive change.

  • Digital Literacy and ICT Training – In a rapidly evolving digital world, we provide computer skills training to bridge the digital divide, improving women’s and girls’ access to technology and online opportunities.

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Training – We encourage girls to pursue STEM education and careers by providing hands-on learning experiences, mentorship, and exposure to opportunities in these fields.

  • Girls' Clubs & Mentorship Programs – We create safe spaces for girls to learn, share experiences, and build self-confidence, guided by role models and mentors who inspire them to break barriers and pursue their aspirations
